Irish Dancing
About Us
Located in the North East region of England, the Rory Patrick Academy of Irish Dance teaches children ages 2 and older the athleticism and art of traditional Irish step dancing. We provide a healthy learning environment for both girls and boys, where dancers of all skill levels and experiences can receive the dedicated instruction and support they need, in order to become the very best dancers that they can be. We also offer classes for adult Irish dancers. Whether you wish to learn, perform and dance for fun, or strive for the highest levels of competition, the Rory Patrick Academy is ready to support each dancer to reach their full potential.
We are certified to teach competitive Irish dancing – under the authority of An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha – and are an insured and vetted establishment, to ensure a safe learning environment for children.

Mr Rory
TCRG/Director
Rory began dancing at the age of three under the guidance of his mother, Lisa McElvogue TCRG. By just ten years old, he had already established himself as a leading talent, becoming a British National Champion, All Scotland Champion, and runner-up at the World Championships.
He went on to achieve five additional national titles, as well as further Great Britain and All Scotland Championship victories, consistently maintaining top-five placements at the World Championships. Rory concluded his competitive career under the instruction of Owen Barrington TCRG, Laura Cass-Barrington ADCRG, and Erin Cass TCRG at the Cass-Barrington Academy in Houston, Texas, where he secured another World Globe.
Fulfilling his dream of performing worldwide, Rory has danced for audiences of tens of thousands across countries including China, Spain, France, the United States, Canada, and Australia.
Since returning home, he founded the Rory Patrick Academy in 2024, where he has already enjoyed significant success as a teacher. Guiding dancers to achieve regional titles, national titles, and top placements at the World Championships.
